 I seldom leave book reviews, but I had to recommend this book and the full 5 stars I am giving it. I first read Convergence and then couldn't wait to pick up Resurgence. Neither book disappoints!! I loved them both. One of the things that surprised me was my complete excitement in finishing Convergence and eagerly ready to read Resurgence to bring me through the second half of the story.
It's a powerful story with manipulation, grit, determination and love. The book was well written with well-developed characters and left you feeling the anger, pain and devastation of war. You can’t help but cheer on the strong female character, Tala as she comes to grips with being the catalyst for major change in the world. I was wholly absorbed in this book which I found surprising since the dystopian genre would not normally be my first choice in choosing what I read. It was refreshing to read "out of my box" and I loved it.
Resurgence is a must read!!!

 A strong 5 STAR rating for this book. I read the first book in the series, called Convergence and couldn't wait to get my hands on the second book.
The author captivated my imagination with the architecture and depiction of the scenes within the book. The characters came alive and grappled with one another in their respective ways and I was really impressed with the development of the characters and the relationships between Convergence and Resurgence. The new characters we met in Resurgence were just as real and complex as the original players we met in Convergence. I think what strikes me most about Resurgence was the author's ability to write the soft and tender scenes, as well as the "on the edge of your seat" action scenes. The story line was strong, consistent between the two books and not at all predictable. The book is so well written that as I read it, I could see the story portrayed in a motion picture.
I highly recommend this book but be sure to read Convergence (book 1) first. Hands down my favorite read so far in 2023.

 One of my favorite female characters, Tala does not disappoint in the second installment to Convergence. Tala and Kane’s relationship is tested in ways that could break even the strongest couple. As they grow and learn to trust each other we see their strength and resolve breakthrough. Just when you think you know what is going to happen, the story takes a turn and makes you not want to put the book down! Tala’s eyes have been opened to the darkness that lies within the Republic and she is more determined than ever to make sure Thias pays for his wrongdoings. Grab your copy of Resurgence and be prepared to not want to put it down!

 This book was so much fun to read. Every chapter was well thought out and the plot was clear till the end. Five stars easily. Tala, the main character, has so much character development and you can see how her thoughts change thought the book. I absolutely love how the details lull you into the story completely submerging you. Again this book was so much fun to read.

 I am impressed with [Nicole's] determination in finishing what [she] started, by creating along, highly readable book to follow the earlier volume. Writing books is not easy, but [she] seem to have not only the will but the skill to do so. Tala is a gutsy female and women will identify with her sorrows and her strengths. I think many of us have a special interest in "domed" or underground colonies, as that concept seems not unreasonable. Consider the bomb shelter built in Greenbrier, West Virginia, or the "prepper" hideaways that are now more prevalent. It's a rich picture for a writer to portray and [Nicole has managed] it well. The lost love is another good motif that [she has] chosen to utilize, and, over all, the power of women both to disrupt and reunite relationships and whole regions.

 "Resurgence" by Nicole Ahles is the sequel to "Convergence", which is crucial to read prior to starting this book. Like the first installment, I simply could not put it down! Excited to read about what would happen next for Tala's journey, I was not disappointed with this page turner. There were unexpected twists, laughs, and tears reading this book. While the setting is a futuristic dystopian world, the writing style made it seem eerily possible. Regardless of your demographic, there's a relatable character for everyone in this book, even villainous family dynamics that generate a storyline you cannot set aside until you know the outcome. Be prepared to explore a world far beyond the pages of "Convergence" as you find out what Tala is truly made of as she faces her past, her bloodline, and ultimately, her future.

 WOW, this was a rollercoaster of a ride reading this book. Tala and Kane are so real in this science fiction book you feel like part of them. The description and world building continued to amaze the me with this sequel! This seriously needs to be considered for a movie! Just such an amazing storyline. Surprises, tragedies, adventure, redemption.THIS BOOK HAS IT ALL! I'm truly sad it is over!
